  • BgVF was a great event for our company. We were able to approach several investors and few months later we finalized the deal with accelerator fund Eleven. We are still negotiating with few other investors for the next round of investments. Happy to attend the event in 2014!

Ivan MojsilovićFounder and CEO of Yanado (pitching competitor)
  • Award and recognition that we received at Belgrade Venture Forum is very special and important for us, especially because it comes from investment and expert jury. It is great to have such a confirmation of our business idea and valuable feedback from top industry experts and investors. All that provided new energy to push further. I am glad that such initiative exists, because it is crucial to establish support instruments, more favorable investment climate and fully fledged startup ecosystem. With their efforts, organizers of BgVF are contributing to these goals and empowering of entrepreneurial scene in the region.

Miloš MilisavljevićCEO @ Strawberry Energy (Winner of BgVF2013 Pitching Competition)
  • We had 10 meetings with investors at Belgrade Venture Forum. We realized how investors think, what they want and ask. The answers to these questions are crucial for founders in order to create sustainable and profitable business model. Exciting, extraordinary useful and priceless experience. Experience which made us think differently.

Bogdan ŽigićCo-Founder of Biofor System – pitching competitor
  • You’re going to meet amazing people just by coming to conferences like this. You’re going to meet investors and other entrepreneurs you didn’t even know they exist, who are doing other amazing things and who are incredibly creative. You will expand circle of friends who are like-minded and want to do things that you want to do.

Pitching Competition

BgVF Pitching Competition is a place where the best innovative companies and ideas have a chance to present themselves directly to a large group of active investors interested in investment opportunities in this region.
This year, Belgrade Venture Forum joined forces with World Bank supported project Pioneers of the Balkans and we’ve had a joint call for applications from August 10th till September 4th. More than 500 innovative companies applied.

Out of those 500+ applications, Pioneers of the Balkans have selected 300 and invited them to PotB semi-final pitching event at the same time and place as BgVF, thus during the day of their pitch, they will have free access to BgVF and the chance to meet investors and successful entrepreneurs to learn from.

On the other hand, out of the same 500+ applications, international BgVF jury will select 30 of the best ones by October 20th, and those will be offered a chance to pitch for investments and prizes on the main stage of Belgrade Venture Forum.

Evaluation criteria for the Company Pitching Competition

Companies will be evaluated by the independent international jury, according to following criteria:

The company has identified a good market and customer base for their products and/or services, and can clearly demonstrate how they can effectively sell to their customers.

The company has clearly identified the type of partnership and/or investment that they are looking for.

The company’s team has the necessary skills and experience to grow the business.

The products and/or services offered are innovative, technologically advanced, of better quality, or lower price, or otherwise have distinct competitive advantages.

The company can demonstrate a solid competitive advantage through intellectual property (existing or potential trade secret, copyright, trademark, patent, etc.) and/or potential market channels, strong partners, etc.

The information presented is well defined, clear, concise and attractive for potential investors/partners.

Soon to be announced, stay tuned.
